紫色麦康凯肉汤是通过 MPN 技术检测水样和牛奶的大肠菌的鉴别培养基。它按照欧洲药典标准通过对传统培养基改良而得，其中将中性红更换为更温和的指示剂。ISO 委员会还在 ISO 9308-2:1990 规范中予以推荐。
制备说明
Suspend 40 g in 1000 ml distilled water. Dispense in test tubes with inverted Durham tubes. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121℃) for 15 minutes.
