HiCrome 沙门氏菌琼脂是一种选择性培养基，用于对食物和水中的大肠杆菌和沙门氏菌进行同时检测。根据菌落特性可轻易地区分大肠杆菌和沙门氏菌。沙门氏菌产生淡紫色菌落，周围带晕环。大肠杆菌具有特征性的蓝色，其他微生物则产生无色菌落。特征性的浅紫色和蓝色是由显色混合物引起的。
制备说明
Suspend 27.9 g in 1 litre distilled water. Boil gently to dissolve the medium completely. DO NOT AUTOCLAVE. Cool to 50℃. Mix well and pour into sterile petri plates.
