Fast Green FCF is a synthetic organic dye, which belongs to the triphenylmethane group. It can be found in a wide range of applications in food and beverage industry. It can also be used in scientific research for the staining of proteins and identification of extracellular recording or injection sites in electrophysiological experiments.

固绿 FCF 染料用于 IEF 中的蛋白质染色，天然 PAGE 和 SDS-PAGE。 固绿染色在比亮蓝 R 更广泛的蛋白质浓度范围内呈线性。为了使灵敏度最高，建议电泳后将蛋白质固定在凝胶中。 然后用 0.1％ 固绿 FCF 在 30％(v/v)乙醇，10％(v/v)乙酸或 7％ 乙酸中将凝胶染色 2 小时。 凝胶可以用 30％(v/v)乙醇，10％(v/v)乙酸或 7％ 乙酸脱色。 可以在 625nm 处扫描染色的凝胶。 检测灵敏度约为亮蓝 R 的 30％。
