一般描述
Regulator of G-protein signaling 2 (RGS2, GOS8) is a negative regulator of G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling. RGS2 has been reported to regulate G(i/o)- and G(q)- and Gα/11 coupled receptors. RGS2 regulates signaling pathways gated by GPCRs such at the AT1 receptor and the melatonin MT(2) receptor. RGS2 regulates the PKC-η/PLD2 pathway and represses STAT3′s transcriptional activation of Nox1.

It is used as a probe to determine the roles regulator of G-protein signaling 2 in the regulation of G(i/o)- and G(q)- and Gα/11 coupled GPCR receptors.
生化/生理作用
Rgs2 inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form. It may play a role in leukemogenesis.
