一般描述
The antibody MEM-168 reacts with CD16 antigen, a low affinity receptor for aggregated IgG (FcgammaRIII antigen). CD16 exists in two different isoforms: CD16a (FcgammaRIIIA; 50-65 kDa; expressed on NK-cells, monocytes and macrophages) and CD16b (FcgammaRIIIB; 48 kDa; mainly expressed on neutrophils).
Cluster of differentiation 16 (CD16), also known as Fc fragment of IgG receptor IIIa (FCGR3A) gene is localized to human chromosome 1 and codes for FC γ IIIa receptor (FcγRIIIa). The encoded protein is expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and macrophages. CD16 is a transmembrane protein characterized with a 21 amino acid cytoplasmic tail.

The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis. Suggested working dilution for Flow Cytometry is 1-4 μg/mL of sample. Indicated dilution is recommended starting point for use of this product. Working concentrations should be determined by the investigator.

Cluster of differentiation 16 (CD16) is one of the activating Fc receptors to which, the Fc region of immunoglobulin G (IgG) binds and mediates inflammatory responses such as antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). Dimorphism in CD16 might influence the therapeutic response to rituximab, which is an anti-CD20 humanized immunoglobulin G1 extensively used in the treatment of non-hodgkin lymphomas. Mutation in the gene might lead to natural killer (NK) cell immunodeficiency.
