生化/生理作用
表现出抗菌活性的抗氧化剂。据报道,五倍子酸丙酯是一种有效的、抗氧化剂类体内外护肝剂。另据证明,它能防止神经元凋亡,阻止暴露于 FeSO4/GA 的神经元死亡,以及在一定程度上防止 TNF-诱导的内皮细胞凋亡。但是,当五倍子酸丙酯浓度高于 0.25μM,同时存在 5μM 及更高浓度的铜时,会诱导 DNA 单链断裂。另有报道称,使用浓度 >1mM 的五倍子酸丙酯进行离体大鼠肝细胞培养会诱导细胞死亡,而 >0.5mM 的较低浓度的五倍子酸丙酯导致了可溶性低分子量 DNA 片段的 ladder 形成,这是细胞凋亡的特征。
