Nuclear receptor corepressor 1 (NCoR) is an important transcriptional regulator or a steroid receptor coregulatory protein. In normal prostate, NCOR1 is found in the cytoplasm and nuclei of secretory epithelial cells. NCoR gene is located on human chromosome 17p.

Nuclear receptor corepressor 1 (NCoR) acts as a corepressor of unliganded thyroid receptor (TR). NCOR1 controls bicalutamide-dependent and independent transcription. It blocks invasion and metastasis. NCOR1 also controls CHEK1 (checkpoint kinase 1).
