一般描述
肿瘤坏死因子α(TNF-α)是TNF超家族的原型配体。它是一种多效性分子，在炎症、凋亡和免疫系统发育中起核心作用。TNF-α是由多种免疫细胞和上皮细胞产生的。它属于TNF配体家族，通过TNFR1和TNFR2两个受体进行信号传导。TNF-α对多种肿瘤细胞具有细胞毒性，是介导免疫反应对抗细菌感染的重要因子。TNF-α在感染性休克、自身免疫性疾病、类风湿性关节炎、炎症和糖尿病的诱导中也起作用。

生物活性测定：在存在
放线菌素D的条件下，由TNFα敏感细胞系L-929的剂量依赖性细胞毒性测定。通常ED50 <0.9 ng/mL。
