Bromopentacarbonylmanganese(I) is used in the formation of (eta⁶-arene)tricarbonylmanganese(I) by reacting with arene (arene= hexamethyl benzene, 1,2,4,5-tetramethyl benzene, mesitylene, p-xylene and toluene) in the presence silver salt.
